Bad habit

I have a horrid habit of wandering into craft stores and buying things without a clue what to do with them. Yesterday for example, I went to Joann's with the intent to buy two skiens of dark grey, one skien of light grey, and one skien of pink yarn. $58.92 later, and I walked out with all of this and a few skiens of a gorgeous purple and brown yarn.

Because I have this problem, being a compulsive yarn buyer, my task of the week will be finding a system of yarn organization that works best for me.

Here are some of the ideas I've found:

If anyone has any suggestions, they would be immensely appreciated. I am thinking of getting either some hooks for the far all in our future "craft closet" which is currently just the "Warhammer-and-salvaged-wood-closet:" However, I have also seen people use shoe holders for cord organization, and I think this would also be an efficient (though not quite as pretty) method or yarn storage.

My new obsession:

Crochet Portal Companion Cubes.

Like this one:

When I get off work today, I will be heading to the nearest yarn store and starting work on my own companion cube!  I love this idea, and I think it will look fantastic on my daybed in the office/game-room upstairs. Also, I think even my husband, with his strange aversion to throw pillows, would appreciate this.
